Most north Austin suburbs raised at least one tax rate for 2026. Round Rock's city rate went from 0.372 to 0.423 per $100, the biggest city increase in the corridor. Leander's city rate held at 0.417282 for the fourth year in a row. Hutto ISD went down and Pflugerville ISD held flat. All of these are adopted rates from the Williamson County Tax Assessor-Collector's 2026 table, with Travis County's table for the Travis side.
A rate is only half of the bill. Each line is the taxable value divided by 100, times the rate. Values are reset every January 1, so a flat rate can still mean a bigger bill and a higher rate can still mean a smaller one.
The short version

School district rates
School district | 2025 | 2026 | Change per $100,000 |
|---|---|---|---|
Leander ISD | 1.086900 | 1.116900 | +$30.00 |
Round Rock ISD | 0.893100 | 0.948400 | +$55.30 |
Pflugerville ISD | 1.106900 | 1.106900 | $0.00 |
Hutto ISD | 1.205200 | 1.187400 | -$17.80 |
Georgetown ISD | 1.050600 | 1.110600 | +$60.00 |
Adopted rates per $100 from the Williamson County table.
The school line is the biggest on most bills, but it also has the biggest exemption. The Comptroller lists a $140,000 general homestead exemption for school districts, so on a homestead the school rate applies to a smaller number than the city or county rate. Georgetown ISD had the largest school increase this year at six cents per $100. Round Rock ISD is still the lowest of the five.
County and college lines
Line | 2025 | 2026 | Change per $100,000 |
|---|---|---|---|
Williamson County general | 0.369447 | 0.381218 | +$11.77 |
Williamson County road (FM/RD) | 0.044329 | 0.040329 | -$4.00 |
Travis County | 0.375845 | 0.38621 | +$10.37 |
Central Health (Travis) | 0.118023 | 0.132863 | +$14.84 |
Austin Community College | 0.103400 | 0.103643 | +$0.24 |
Williamson lines from the Williamson County table; Travis County and Central Health from the Travis County table.
Which of these lines you pay depends on the parcel. Williamson-side homes carry the Williamson lines. Travis-side homes carry Travis County and Central Health instead. ACC applies only inside its taxing district, which leaves out Hutto ISD and Georgetown ISD.
What the no-new-revenue rate tells you
Every line in the county table also shows a no-new-revenue rate. The county defines it as the rate that would bring in the same money as last year from property taxed in both years. When a unit adopts a rate above that number, it collects more from existing property than it did the year before.
Round Rock's city rate of 0.423 compares with a no-new-revenue rate of 0.385265. Leander's 0.417282 is below its no-new-revenue rate of 0.430886, so the same rate brings in less from existing property than last year.

Every component, the combined totals and the MUD and PID caveats are in the 2026 north Austin suburb tax rate table.
What to do with this
If you are buying, estimate the payment with the 2026 rates and the parcel's taxable value, not the tax figure on an old listing. If you own, your 2026 statement uses these rates. For next year's value, the protest deadline is May 15 or 30 days after your appraisal notice arrives, whichever is later, under Tax Code 41.44. Here is how to protest in Williamson County, and the town guides for Leander and Round Rock show where each rate fits.
